Jean-Aubert Loranger - Moments
On the pond wrinkled in the wind,
The elongated moon ruffles

Jean-Aubert Loranger wrote his haikus and tankas as a modernist reaction to the Quebec nativist writers around him, yet paradoxically, he chose to populate them with pictures of provincial life, full of pathos and mystery. (first English translation)
